From Our First Chapter to Our Next: Celebrating GVCA as a 2026 Pillar Partner
Every program has a beginning. Ours started with industry professionals who believed students deserved a closer look at the opportunities in construction.
Today, as Legacy Builders reaches new communities, we’re proud to celebrate the Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA) as a Pillar Partner for 2026. Their dedication carries special meaning: GVCA helped give this program its start, and their continued support is helping us build its future.
Legacy Builders began as an educational initiative through GVCA’s Leaders in Construction (LinC) Committee. The goal was to introduce students to construction careers and help them discover possibilities they might never have considered. That early work laid the foundation for the program we deliver today.

At its heart was a belief that still guides us: students should have the opportunity to understand an industry before deciding whether it holds a place for them.
Construction brings together people with many different strengths. It needs practical problem-solvers, creative thinkers, organizers, communicators, and future leaders. Through classroom conversations, interactive learning, and connections with industry professionals, Legacy Builders helps students explore that variety and imagine where their own interests could lead. Growing Wings, Staying Connected to Our Roots
What began within the LinC Committee eventually grew wings of its own.
Legacy Builders developed into an independently driven program, with more people contributing their time, experience, and resources to help it grow. As our reach expanded beyond Waterloo Region into communities including Halton and Niagara, the purpose behind those first classroom visits remained central: make construction careers visible, accessible, and exciting to the next generation. That growth makes our connection to GVCA especially meaningful. Each new classroom is another opportunity to carry forward an idea that first took shape through their association and LinC Committee.
