Sponsor Spotlight: Melloul-Blamey
Together, Christina and Jeff represent the best of Melloul-Blamey’s commitment — not only in delivering exceptional built environments but in sharing their knowledge to open doors for students across Ontario.
At Legacy Builders, our mission has always been about inspiring the next generation of construction professionals — helping young people see the countless career opportunities that the construction industry has to offer. Today, we are proud to recognize Melloul-Blamey Construction as one of our Founding Partners, a collaboration rooted in shared values, deep industry experience, and a commitment to workforce development across Ontario.
Melloul-Blamey has been building excellence since its founding in 1982 by Bernard Melloul and David Blamey. What began as a two-person operation in Kitchener has grown into one of the most respected general contracting firms in Canada, delivering high-quality institutional, commercial, and industrial projects while maintaining a strong reputation for integrity, craftsmanship, and community engagement.
People First: Leadership That Builds Legacies
Our partnership with Melloul-Blamey runs deeper than sponsorship — it’s personal. Two of Legacy Builders’ central leaders work full time with Melloul-Blamey:
Christina Rauchfleisz-Shantz, President & Founder of Legacy Builders, brings her lifelong connection to the construction sector into our educational mission. Christina is a third-generation construction professional who found her passion for engaging the next generation through hands-on learning and real-world insights. Before launching Legacy Builders as an incorporated non-profit, she cultivated the program while working within Melloul-Blamey’s team — combining industry experience with community outreach to foster a new approach to construction careers.
Jeff Shantz, Board Chair of Legacy Builders, also works full time at Melloul-Blamey as Vice President of Project Development. Jeff brings decades of industry expertise, leadership in project execution, and a deep belief in mentoring the workforce of tomorrow. His role within Legacy Builders reinforces our connection to everyday construction realities and the pathways that aspiring builders can follow.
Partnering to Inspire Change
As a Founding Partner, Melloul-Blamey’s support helps Legacy Builders expand classroom workshops, interactive presentations, and hands-on activities that connect students with real careers in construction — from project management and engineering to trades and design. These initiatives are designed to break down stereotypes about industry careers and highlight the diversity of roles that make our sector thrive.
This partnership reflects the broader vision shared by both organizations: that construction should be celebrated as a field of innovation, creativity, and opportunity — and that today’s students can be tomorrow’s leaders, innovators, and skilled professionals.
