Introducing the Legacy Builders NEXTGen Committee

The construction industry is at a turning point.

Across every region, we’re facing the same challenge: a growing workforce gap and a need for stronger connections between industry, education, and community.

At Legacy Builders, we’ve always believed the solution isn’t one organization, one program, or one idea. It’s people.

People who care. People who show up. People who are willing to build something bigger than themselves.

That’s why we’re proud to introduce the Legacy Builders NEXTGen Committee.

What is NEXTGen?

NEXTGen is a new initiative designed to bring together passionate individuals from across the construction industry and beyond — all with a shared goal:

To strengthen our workforce by building meaningful relationships and creating real opportunities.

This committee will focus on:

  • Hosting high-quality networking events that actually connect people

  • Creating new ideas and initiatives to support workforce development

  • Supporting school-based programming and student engagement

  • Bringing together industry leaders, educators, parents, and future tradespeople

  • Expanding Legacy Builders into new communities and regions

At its core, NEXTGen is about connection with purpose.

Why This Matters

We don’t have a talent problem — we have a connection problem.

Too many young people don’t know the opportunities available in construction. Too many companies are struggling to find skilled, motivated workers. Too many conversations are happening in silos instead of together.

NEXTGen exists to change that.

By creating spaces where people can connect — authentically and consistently — we can start to bridge the gap between industry and the next generation.

Built on Access
Not Barriers

One of the most important things to know about NEXTGen:

There are zero membership fees.

No cost to join.

Because if we’re serious about solving workforce challenges, access matters.

We want the best ideas, the most passionate people, and the strongest voices at the table — not just those who can afford to be there.

Who Should Get Involved?

If you care about the future of construction, there’s a place for you here.

We’re bringing together individuals from across:

Niagara • KW/Cambridge • Toronto (GTA) • Hamilton/Halton • London/Woodstock • and beyond

There is no age restriction, and all experience levels are welcome and encouraged.

Whether you’re a builder, supplier, educator, student supporter, or industry advocate — your perspective matters.

Two Ways to Get Involved

Apply to Join the NEXTGen Committee

If you want to take an active role in shaping events, ideas, and initiatives — we invite you to apply.

Let’s Solve This Together

The future of our industry won’t be built by chance. It will be built by people who choose to step forward, collaborate, and take action. NEXTGen is more than a committee. It’s a movement toward stronger connections, better opportunities, and a more sustainable workforce.
